Welcome to the Kigo Wallet Glossary of Terms! This glossary serves as a comprehensive resource for understanding the key terminology associated with the Kigo Wallet product. It is designed to provide clarity on various product-related terms, ensuring that new team members can onboard the project effectively. Please note that this is a live document, meaning it will be continuously updated to reflect new terms and concepts as the product evolves. We encourage you to refer back regularly for the most current information.
Term | Description | Links/Notes |
| Banner | Banners are more prominent than a “toast,” and are used for more persistent notifications that often require user interaction to dismiss or acknowledge. | |
| Boost | This is the product type for "bundle" tokens. It is called "boost" since this was the marketing term used during our implementation of this product. | |
Campaign Token
| A specific token for completing certain actions, such as taking pictures or submitting invoices that are in the user’s wallet. | |
| Claim code | A code that is provided to the user and/or embedded in the deeplink to claim a token in the Wallet. | Notes: This can be used as a backup code as well for a user to manually enter it in and claim a token in the Wallet if the deeplink fails. |
| Claim | When a user takes ownership of a token into their wallet. | |
| Collection | A group of similar Tokens | Notes: Collections are outdated in terms of the Wallet product, but collections are still used in the database and code. |
| Credential | Type of product where users can earn certificates. There is a list of different certificates implemented. Each certificate has its own "credential" product. When a user earns a credential/certificate the user gets an "other" type token. The "credential" product type correlates with the "other" token type. | Example: LexisNexis project. In the project, if a student passes a legal studies class, they receive a credential that certifies their accomplishment. |
| Expired Rewards | Rewards that have passed their designated validity period and can no longer be used. | |
| Hidden Rewards | Rewards which have been intentionally moved into the Hidden section. They will not appear in the main section wallet anymore. | |
| History | A transaction history of each state change of tokens held by the wallet including:
| |
| In-store | Describes a physical location and is used primarily for “show and save” offers. | |
| Loader | Loaders can take various forms, including progress bars, animations, and spinners. | |
| Merchant | The entity responsible for fulfillment of the token value. For example, Amazon is the merchant attached to an Amazon gift Card and Williams Inn is the merchant attached to a tokenized offer for 50% off at Williams Inn. | |
| Modal | Pop-up of information that appears on top of the main content, requiring user interaction before they can return to the underlying interface. | |
| Partner | The entity who has keys to Kigo’s API. Could include BHN or John Deere Manages one or more loyalty and/or offers programs that is sending traffic to Kigo. | Notes: Currently, the wallet has three Partners: John Deere, Amplify and Augeo
|
| Pending | This is the product type for the "pending" tokens that are associated with campaigns. Pending can also refer to the state a token is in when being transferred between wallets. | Notes: Currently, this product is only used by John Deere and act as a "placeholders" for tokens. The "pending" tokens informs the user that they’ve already submitted an invoice and we are in the process of reviewing it |
| Primary Wallet | The part of the Wallet that displays all tokens that can still be “used” in some way. | |
Product
| A blueprint for a token that can be placed in a user's wallet. Products define what a token should look like, what it should be called, and how it should behave for a user. Products get ‘initialized’ as tokens in a user’s wallet, allowing them to take actions on that token without affecting other products. | |
| Program | Called “Program” in the database, but it refers to LexisNexis or any of Augeo’s clients (Dash’s clients would be brands) — will call them “programs” externally (a partner can have multiple programs) | |
| Program Campaign | Campaigns are targeted initiatives designed for clients, such as the oil promotion campaign for John Deere. Campaign is a product type. | Example of relation between Campaign and Campaign Token: Each user who registered for the Smooth Savings Hub during the oil promotion campaign received a campaign token in their wallet, which can be used for receipt validation. |
| Promo Code | This is the product type for the "offer" tokens that have a redemption type of "promo code". | Scope: Currently, this product is only used for John Deere’s campaign. It’s how the John Deere online shop codes get delivered to a user after their invoice is successfully scanned. |
| Revealed Reward | Single-use items that have been opened. | |
| Reward | The general term for any item/token within the Kigo ecosystem (consumer-facing). | Notes: Every loyalty program seems to have different terminology (ie. perk, benefit) |
| Rearranging Rewards | Updating the placement of the rewards within a user’s wallet. This is done by clicking and dragging (i.e on desktop) or by pressing down and dragging (i.e on mobile) a reward to be placed in a different spot within the user’s wallet. The arrangement is automatically saved and doesn’t change until a new reward is added to the user’s wallet. | |
| Redeem In-store | This is a button that’s available only for offers that either have only the “show-and-save" redemption type or both the “show-and-save" and “voucher” redemption types. The button directs the user to display the mobile offer modal if the “show-and-save" redemption type (i.e “Display mobile offer” button) is selected. The button directs the user to display the printed voucher if the “voucher” redemption type (i.e “Print” button) is selected. | |
| Redeem Online | This is a “clickthrough” type button that’s available only for online offers (i.e offers with the “link” redemption type). The button directs the user to the offer merchant’s affiliate website where the offer is automatically applied at checkout. | |
| Sent Rewards | Rewards that have been accepted by the recipient and ownership of them have been successfully transferred. | |
| Tag | The mechanism to organize tokens via sorting/filtering. A token can have multiple tags associated with it. | |
| Toast | A small, temporary message that appears on the screen to provide feedback to the user. It typically appears for a short duration and then disappears automatically without requiring user interaction. | |
| Token | An individual item inside a user’s wallet. There are many types of tokens the Kigo platform supports including bundles, campaigns, credentials, and offers. | |
